We have decided to recycle an old camper for our tiny house. We are mostly interested in harvesting the trailer. It is actually cheaper to buy an older camper than it is to buy a utility trailer. If you are willing to put in the work of demolition, scrapping, and recycling then it can be a viable option for some. We actually have made a little money back on the RV parts and the metal coming out of the camper. We aren’t the only ones that have done this, check out Abel Zyl Zimmerman and Steve and Wendy.
Here is my design for our tiny house. I created it using Google Sketchup. Things could change though once we start building but this is the basic idea. We are building it on our family’s land in North Georgia.
